Sylvera Raises $57M to Scale Carbon Credit Ratings Platform
Sylvera, a London, UK-based carbon credit ratings company, recently announced that it has raised a substantial $57 million in Series B funding. The round was led by Balderton Capital, with participation from Fidelity Strategic Ventures, and 9Yards Capital, as well as existing backers Index Ventures, Insight Partners, Bain & Company, Salesforce Ventures, Speedinvest, Seedcamp, and LocalGlobe. With a total of $95.5 million raised, the company plans to use the funds to scale its teams and product offerings, expand into the US market, and focus on enhancing its technology to support investments in climate action.
Under the leadership of Allister Furey, CEO, and Samuel Gill, President, Sylvera offers a carbon intelligence platform that empowers corporate sustainability leaders, traders, and asset managers to assess and invest in high-quality carbon credits.
By leveraging technology along with carbon project evaluation methodologies, the company provides essential data and ratings related to climate action investments, such as carbon credits. This information enables both private sector entities and governments to address gaps in their net-zero strategies, fostering progress towards achieving societal net-zero goals.
Since the announcement of its Series A funding in January 2022, Sylvera has experienced substantial growth.
