Alice Bentinck's career began at McKinsey & Co, where she met Entrepreneur First co-founder, Matt Clifford.
Entrepreneur First has become a significant player in the startup ecosystem, with over 500 startups created and a combined portfolio valued at over $6 billion as of 2022. The company's international presence expanded to Singapore in 2016, and in 2017, it secured a $12.4 million investment led by Reid Hoffman, co-founder of LinkedIn and Partner at Greylock.
Alice Bentinck's commitment to addressing gender disparities in the tech industry led her to co-found Code First: Girls in 2012. This non-profit has become the largest provider of free coding courses for women in the UK, having taught over 25,000 women to code.
In recognition of her contributions to business, she was awarded an MBE in the 2016 Queen's Birthday Honours. Besides her entrepreneurial endeavours, Alice is a member of the UK AI Council, representing the country's AI sector internationally.
In February 2022, Alice was appointed to Prime Minister Boris Johnson's Business Council, emphasising her influence and leadership in the business community.
In December 2023, it was announced that Alice Bentinck would take over as CEO of Entrepreneur First, succeeding Matt Clifford, who stepped down to focus on opportunities in artificial intelligence.
