That's for the angel investors themselves, however business investors tend to get together in groups, clubs and syndicates. Bristol hosts 2 of these investor clubs:
Angel Investors Bristol get how angel investing can turn cool ideas into successful businesses. They're all about putting money, ranging from £50,000 to £500,000, into early-stage startups. Plus, they make sure it qualifies for schemes like the Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme (SEIS) or Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS). This way, they give these new businesses the cash and know-how they need to do well.
Their mission is simple: they want to kickstart new ideas, support people starting businesses, and make sure their members get good returns. By bringing together creative founders and experienced investors, they build a team that helps businesses grow, creates more job opportunities, and adds to the economic success of the Bristol area.
The Bristol Angel Investment Club is composed of experienced investors, provides valuable industry knowledge, strategic guidance, and mentorship to startups. Specialising in SEIS-focused funding, they offer significant tax advantages to investors and guide startups through the SEIS process. Joining the club provides access to a network of investors and industry experts, fostering collaborations and opening doors to potential customers and partners. With a commitment to supporting the local startup community, the club offers resources, mentorship, and a tailored network to boost the success of Bristol-based ventures.

Bristol Private Equity Club members, a group of like-minded individuals, have been handpicked for their diverse skills and industry backgrounds. They've all been in the trenches of running their own businesses, so they understand the challenges and triumphs of entrepreneurship. Their mission? To lend a helping hand. The Club provides a structured process for receiving, reviewing, and discussing business plans, allowing members to collectively shoulder the risks and rewards of investing.
It's not a one-size-fits-all approach. Each member decides to invest in each business on a case-by-case basis. Not every proposal will attract investment from all members, setting the Club apart from traditional VCTs or Private Equity Funds.
